Installation of Solar Conect Products
Lynx Solar SPF Series Solar Hot Water System
Solar Conect have three sizes of this product (130, 150 and 170 litre), they are pressurised systems that can also be gravity fed and are for hot water only.

A site visit is needed by Solar Conect to be able to work out an accurate estimate of installation costs.
The installation cost depends on where the system can be connected to the existing services of the domestic or commercial property.
- If the building is under construction then service connections can easily be installed in the correct location
- If replacing a calentador (gas boiler) or an electric water heater then the Lynx Solar system can be connected to the existing services of the domestic or commercial property
- Costs for installation depend on the amount of pipe needed and where the Lynx Solar hot water system is to be located. The installer also has to take into account where the nearest electric supply is for connecting the back up immersion heater and controller, which will tell you the temperature of the water you have in the tank
- In most cases the Lynx Solar hot water system can be installed in a day
- Where there are difficulties with connections or access the installation will take approximately two days
The average cost for most installations is 600 Euros.
Lynx Solar Pressurised Split Solar Hot Water System
Solar Conect have three sizes of this product (150, 200 and 250 litre), all are pressurised systems that can also be gravity fed and are for hot water only.
A pressurised split system is where the evacuated tube collector is located separately from the tank and positioned on the roof of the property for the best possible return of the energy given by the sun. The pressurized tank can now be placed within the main structure of the building such as a cupboard or utility room. A working pump-station brings the two together.
A site visit is needed by Solar Conect to be able to work out an accurate estimate of installation costs.
Installation costs depend on:
- where the hot water tank is to be placed within the domestic or commercial property
- distance between the evacuated tube collector and hot water tank
- connections for the services of the domestic or commercial property
The average cost of the installation is 800 euros.
Solar Conect Underfloor Heating and Hot Water System

In all cases the Solar Conect underfloor heating and hot water system can only be installed within a new structure or where a property is being redeveloped.
Detailed plans of the property will be needed to fully estimate the sizes needed for the evacuated tube collectors and thermal store and the number of zones needed for the underfloor heating system.
A price is then given for the cost of all materials including insulation of the floors, this is worked out by the amount of square meters to be heated. At this stage we can also estimate the cost of the installation. As some of the work needs to be done while the building is under construction, Solar Conect will liaise with the architect and constructor to ensure the best possible installation of the system.
STAGES OF INSTALLATION
- Consultation with architect and building constructor
- Liaison with plumber and electrician
- Design installation plan
- On commencement of work install pipe work for collectors and thermal store
- Place and install manifolds for underfloor system
- Lay insulation for underfloor pipe
- Install underfloor pipe connections to manifolds
- Regular consultations with the electrician regarding wiring for thermostat placement and connections to run system
- Wire and connect pumps and immersion heaters to run system
- Fill the system with water and check for leaks
- Install vacuum tubes in collector
- Commission system
- Balance system
